Egypt has introduced a new structure of fines for visa violations aimed at enforcing regulations and ensuring compliance among visitors and expatriates. The fines vary depending on the duration of the visa overstay, providing a tiered penalty system that increases with the length of the overstay.

Here's a breakdown of the fines based on the period overstayed:

1-3 months: The fines start at 1,503.40 EGP for an overstay of up to three months within the first year. This amount progressively increases with each additional year, reaching 5,503.40 EGP for an overstay in the third year.

3-6 months: Overstays of three to six months incur a starting fine of 2,003.40 EGP in the first year, escalating to 6,003.40 EGP by the third year.

6-9 months: For overstays between six to nine months, the fines begin at 2,503.40 EGP in the first year and go up to 6,503.40 EGP in the third year.

9-12 months: Those overstaying between nine to twelve months will be fined starting from 3,003.40 EGP in the first year, with a maximum of 7,003.40 EGP by the third year.

For those who overstay beyond three years, the system simplifies the fines by adding a flat rate of 500 EGP to each 1-3 month period overdue.

These structured fines are part of Egypt's efforts to manage its immigration system more effectively and ensure that visitors and residents adhere to the stipulated visa durations. Visitors and expatriates in Egypt are advised to keep track of their visa expiration dates and renew their visas on time to avoid these significant penalties.
